It might sound silly but online business needs offline marketing tips to stay alive and to achieve something in the internet age. Such label was needed to differentiate it from the new breed of marketing strategies associated with online marketing. The name however, comes to suggest something else. Offline marketing strategies now also mean the strategies available to support online business and marketing to improve quality of traffic.

The truth is that offline marketing is an ally of internet businesses. Many businesses online succeed if the traffic to the website gets fired up. While the hits are expected to come naturally, one must be prepared to implement a bunch of offline marketing strategies to improve the traffic. Even if your storefront (which in this case is the website) contains the best products, but it has not reached the consciousness of the consuming public, then you cannot sell or make profit out of it. What is important is to get into the consciousness of the consumers.

If your operations is constrained by financial factors, try finding some cheaper or promotional rates to get the cost lower. The goods or services may also be swapped for some endorsements from television and radio personalities. Unfortunately, if you are doing all of the marketing but without the support of the time-tested offline strategies, then your advertising is just half-baked. Match it with offline marketing strategies.

Try sponsoring sports teams in your local area that will carry your company name. You may be surprised to find out that TV ads are still making out tons of money doe advertisers. The radio is still a force to reckon with in areas where television are still unheard of. All of these are still very much alive and achieving what they were originally set to achieve.

It will be a smart decision to support one’s online business with offline marketing strategies. Use traditional methods, but be creative and innovative to make people remember your URL. Stick them on vehicles, bikes, make bookmarks out of it. Stick them right where they can be seen by a lot of people. Take time to find out where you can be given the chance to talk for free carrying with you the URL. Do not leave the house without yout URL with you. These are just the ways to direct those buckets of quality traffic to your website.

Why You Shouldn’t Dismiss Offline Advertising

Many small businesses have turned to advertising online. They have a website and promote it online to try and get as many free visitors as they can. There is obviously nothing wrong with this method and you should exploit it as much as you can.  Still, one thing you shouldn’t do is dismiss offline advertising.

Offline advertising was not so long ago the only option you had for your business. Before the internet it was a lot harder for businesses to thrive as the cost of offline advertising was so high. But thankfully, as online advertising started increasing, the cost of offline advertising has decreased. Plus it is still very effective as not everyone has access to the internet.  So, if you’re not using offline advertising you may be losing out on valuable business.

The first and one of the oldest methods to use is to have business cards. These are cheap to have created these days or you can even create them yourself with a free business card creator and a printer. Make sure to have your website address and phone number on the card, use a bright and attractive colour and give them a reason for visiting your site. Then hand them out to as many people as you can. Pin them up on advertising boards in supermarkets; place them in restrooms, service stations, bus stations. Basically anywhere that someone stands for a couple of minutes. That could be enough time for them to see your card and remember your website.

The next method would be to have flyers created and hand them out or deliver them yourself to your target audience. Even an hour a day putting them in mailboxes could be enough to get 2-3 new customers. Why not visit your local supermarket and put them on the wind shields of all the cars? That way you know that everyone will see the flyer because they have to remove it. Handing out flyers is a very inexpensive way of promoting your business.

Placing a classified ad in the local newspaper or related publications is another great offline advertising method. These can be purchased cheaply and reach a large number of readers. Don’t dismiss it if you have never tried it!

These are just a small number of offline advertising methods you can use to increase your business and profits. There are many more, and while some offline advertising methods can be expensive and complicated, many are fast, easy, and dirt cheap.  Combine both online and offline advertising methods, and you may be surprised at the great results.
